Sevan
Sevan is Armenia’s largest lake and one of the biggest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the region. Located about 60 km from Yerevan at an elevation of nearly 1900 meters, Lake Sevan is a top summer destination for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports.
The Sevanavank Monastery, built in the 9th century, sits on the peninsula and offers stunning views of the lake. Visitors can enjoy fresh fish dishes, especially local trout known as Ishkhan, at many lakeside restaurants.
