Lake Rapi is a high-mountain crater lake located in Aragatsotn Province, on the northern slopes of Mount Aragats, about 10 km from the village of Geghadzor. It sits at an elevation of approximately 3,000 meters above sea level. The lake’s crystal clear blue waters lie surrounded by alpine meadows and rocky slopes. The road to Rapi ascends through these meadows, offering sweeping views of Aragats’s northern face. Because of its height and exposure, the temperatures stay cool, even in summer. The area is rich in rugged beauty — wildflowers carpet the ground in summer, and if you're lucky you might spot raptors or mountain goats.Being remote and less-visited, Rapi is especially appealing for hikers looking for tranquility and unspoiled scenery. The size of the lake is about 1.2 hectares, making it intimate, peaceful, and a perfect spot for a contemplative rest in nature.
